Since closets tend to be the smallest rooms in the home, it can be difficult to keep them organized. They usually just become a “catch-all” for seasonal items and other possessions that are not used regularly. This act will make it hard to find anything when the time comes to actually use it. Closet organization ideas are helpful if you wish to declutter the tiny rooms and make the most of the storage space.

Shelving is the most beneficial tool you can place inside your closet. Shelves open up a wealth of storage space in any area they are used. There are shelves that you can purchase that have the clothing rack built in, which will allow you extra space without taking up any room itself. Units can also be attached to the walls of the closet for even more storage areas. Wire shelving is recommended, as the see-through material allows you to quickly locate items stored above your head.


Hanging organizers tend to be one of the easier closet organization ideas recommended by those that know how to keep a proper home. These can simply hang from the clothing rack or on the inside of the closet door, and offer various shapes and sizes of storage. The most common items stored in a hanging organizer are shoes and jewelry. These organizers can be used in bathrooms as well to store toiletries.

Speaking of shoes, the floor of many closets can become cluttered when too many pairs are purchased. The first thing you need to do is sort through and get rid of those that you no longer wear. When you have narrowed down to your most favorite pairs, store them all in one closet if possible. This makes them more organized and easy to find. If you do not own many pairs after the cleanup, you can purchase a thin shoe box that slides under the bed.

There are many closet organization ideas that revolve around your clothing. When attempting to declutter your closet, you should follow the same first step as with the shoes. Donate any clothing that you do not or cannot wear. Sort the remaining items by the season. If it is difficult to organize your clothes because you have so many, only keep the current season’s clothing hanging on the shelf. The rest of your wardrobe can hang in another closet if possible. If you do not have the extra room, you can purchase storage totes for the currently unused items.

Why Setting Personal Goals Is Important

A lot of people like to learn how to be successful. They read books, listen to audio cassettes or even watch videos that tell them how to be successful in life. However most people fail to apply that knowledge, and as a result, a lot of what they learn is ultimately wasted. I know I am guilty of this myself. I once learned about the importance of setting personal goals but never applied that knowledge. For some reason, I studied it, became interested in it, but took it no further. But later I then heard an expression that changed the way I looked at and ultimately used information I acquired. That expression was, “what’s the pointing of learning something if you never use it”. As soon as I heard that saying, I realized that I had been learning lots of things, but never applying them in my life. Learning how to set goals, was one of those things.


So Why Is Goal Setting Important Anyway? Taking the time to sit down and write out your personal goals is perhaps one of the most important things you can do for yourself. And incidentally, all successful people set themselves goals. That in itself should be a big enough reason to set them!

What Are Goals? Goals are simply the things you want to do in life, and by writing them down you can clarify exactly what you want and how you are going to accomplish them.

Most people have a vague idea of what they want to achieve in life, and keep these vague ideas in their head. However, because they are vague ideas the action they take to accomplish those goals is also vague. And as a result, usually ineffective.

Personal Goals Will Focus The Mind. So writing down goals on a piece of paper allows you to decide exactly what you want to do in life. Once you know what you want to do, you can then create a specific plan of action to accomplish those goals.


It’s like giving yourself a map and compass to reach a certain destination in life. Without that map and compass you would most likely lose your way, and never get to where you want to go.

This is the real value of goals, as they help to give your life meaning, direction and a sense of purpose. With these things will also come to a sense of control, which will also make you feel happier with yourself. You will be steering your life in the direction you want it to go, rather than being blown around like a leaf in the wind.

Set Yourself Some Goals! So take some time to think about the things you want to accomplish in life. Write them down on a piece of paper, and create a plan as to how you will achieve those goals. It might just be the most important and valuable exercise you ever do.

Helping yourself is an important part of your life planning. It needs to be planned in a way that you can accomplish all of your goals so that you can live the life you want to live. You need to research things that you can accomplish in your life. These tips below can help you with that.

Structuring your day can be an effective self-help strategy for overcoming anxiety. When you leave your day to chance, you can often become overwhelmed and stressed. By planning important events each day, you are able to take more control over your life. Also, by keeping yourself busy with planned activities, it is less likely that you will focus your attention towards other thoughts that could cause you anxiety.

Do not feel guilty telling others "no".  You don't have to think of an explanation or an excuse to say so. You have the right to your own choices.

Set goals for yourself and strive to reach them. These can be simple things like keeping a houseplant alive longer than you have in the past. Take the time to celebrate all of the things that you accomplish. Celebrating will be your inspiration to reach the next goal that you set for yourself.

Do not underestimate the importance of other people. Success is something that keeps you happy as long as you work towards it. Once you reach your goal, you must have someone to share it with to stay happy. Find a significant other that shares your dreams, and perhaps having children could help you too.

After this you can probably reduce the amount of mental energy necessary as it becomes routine, but at the beginning it is essential to reinforce what you are doing.

Even though you might encounter many obstacles in your path to personal improvement, do not give up on your plans. Giving up is a sure way to not reach a goal, and you will never improve. However, if you stay with your plan, even if progress has slowed down a lot, you will eventually get to where you want to be.
