Every May 14 and 15 of the year, some cities and municipalities in the Philippines, including the municipality where my birth parents are living , are celebrating a two days thanks giving fiesta celebration for a bountiful harvest, in honor of Sr. San Isidro Labrador (Saint Isidore the Laborer), the the Catholic patron saint of farmers. It's a fun celebration. Usually, the entire town is decorated for the annual feast and normally, a solemn procession marks the highlight of the occasion and other various cultural presentation. For many years now, I am not able to join my parents and my siblings for this celebration. I missed being able to pray and give thanks with them. I also missed the merry celebration, the food, relatives and friends. I am currently living miles and miles away from them but I'm joining them in my thoughts and prayers. My heart always remembers and will always be thankful to God for all the blessings I am receiving.
Viva Sr. San Isidro Labrador!
