Dealing with stress is a healthy habit. When you experience stress or anger, it increases your heart rate, blood pressure, muscle tension and breathing rate which can have a negative effect on your health. During periods of stress or anger, blood pressure rises. If the stress and anger persist over time, high blood pressure can develop. Hmmm...we don't want that. Do you?

Being able to know and learn about our body and our feelings is a great thing for us. If we notice that we're beginning to feel stressed or angry, its necessary to stop what we're doing that is causing the feelings. Or, change the way we think and perceive the situation so that we can gain control over our emotions and our body's physical reactions. That's what we call, stress management.
